Be an Angel of the Day at Hôpital Sacré Coeur!

At Hôpital Sacré Coeur it is understated to say that a lot happens in a day. From early morning people stream into the building seeking medical care; mothers to deliver their babies, patients visiting one of the many clinics, and others urgently in need of medical attention. In one day and under one roof patients consult with the doctors, complete all of their laboratory tests, return to the doctors for results and receive medications from the pharmacy. A day can mean life or death for those who come seeking care.

No one is turned away; everyone is treated regardless of ability to pay. Approximately In 2009 approximately 38% of the hospital’s direct costs were covered by patients’ contributions; the rest, which currently amounts to a minimum of $855,000, must be raised by the CRUDEM Foundation. This amount does not include the huge additional costs incurred as a result of the tragic earthquake on January 12, 2010.

In 2009, approximately 53,600 patients passed through the doors of Hôpital Sacré Coeur, which is an average of 147 people per day! We must raise $2,342 per day to ensure that these patients receive the care that they deserve and so desperately need.

Angel of the Day Sponsorships can be given as gifts in memory, in honor or to celebrate special days such as birthdays, anniversaries or feast days. Treat a loved one or yourself to this very special gift. Community groups, schools, churches and families may consider fundraising to collectively sponsor a day or more at Hôpital Sacré Coeur.

An acknowledgement card will be sent to the sponsor and recipient. The recipients and sponsors will be remembered in the recitation of the Our Father (“Papa Nou”) by the patients and staff of Hôpital Sacré Coeur.  Sponsors may be publicized in our newslettrs, web site and in the CRUDEM annual calendar unless they request otherwise.
