Primary Care Center
The past two years have seen explosive growth in the number of people coming to Hôpital Sacrè Coeur for treatment. As many as 500 patients may arrive for care some days. This is a tribute to the consistent dedication and compassionate care of our Haitian staff and volunteers. However, the fact remains that the increasing number of patients overwhelms the hospital’s current physical plant.
It is obvious that a separation of the outpatient facilities from the main hospital
campus will provide more efficient use of the inpatient services and will allow for an orderly expansion of our primary care services. We will better serve all of our patients by constructing a primary care center across the street, away from the main hospital campus.
We look forward to building a structure that will enable us to provide more help for the sick poor of northern Haiti.
