Hôpital Sacrè Coeur

The hospital provides quality healthcare for all, including those who are unable to pay for it. Our permanent Haitian medical staff offers care in internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery and ophthalmology. Their efforts are supplemented weekly by volunteer medical teams from the US and Canada, representing specialties such as urology, plastic surgery, dermatology, orthopedics, cardiac surgery, pediatrics, internal medicine, gynecology and general surgery. The Haitian physicians and the visitors share their expertise in tropical medicine and other specialties with one another. A medical library is being established for current medical texts and journal subscriptions.

Clinics for AIDS, filariasis, diabetes, cardiac disease, prenatal care and a community health program (immunizations and health education) are held on a regular basis. Community outreach is also provided by the Mobile Clinic project.
